Selected Reviews for The Job To Be Done
"4 out of 5 Stars - The Job To Be Done is a compelling slice of military history....a structured text that is purposeful about seeing its crew's stories through to their ends. Digging through inherited memorabilia with a meticulous eye, The Job To Be Done is a son's tribute to his father.."

" 5 Stars - Over the last 30 years there has been a massive influx of books written about, or by, Bomber Command veterans. By my last estimation there are well over 1,000 books written about the topic. Many are better than others. Why should you buy this one?
Simply put, as someone who has spent some 40 odd years researching Bomber Command I was incredibly impressed with the level of work done by Mr Coffey in both his research and his writing. In opening a door to one story of the Pathfinder Force crew piloted by his late father, F/Lt Jesse Ray Coffey, DFC + Bar, Clint was often led to another door (or rabbit hole), and from the narrative, welcomed the challenge.
Like all great books, this one hooks you right from the start. We are given a history of his late father (Coffey passed away in 1990) and at the reading of his will, all his aviation material was to be given to his youngest son. Author Coffey has not let his father down and we are treated to the genesis of his research as well as his joy at finding one of his dad's crew was not only still alive but living in the same province.
Treat yourself to an exciting story and buy this book. For those researching their own family's aviation history, Clint's book will not only be a great read but a guide on how best to do your own research."

" 5 out of 5 Stars. This is such an interesting story and the extensive research undertaken by the author is obvious. It should be part of anyone's library who is interested in WWII pilots, training, RCAF, Bomber Command, and raids. This book is a tribute, both to the author's father and his crewmates, but also to those many ordinary men and women who were ill-prepared for the extraordinary service they were asked to perform. It will stay with me for a long time.

" In The Job To Be Done, using his dad's logbook as a starting point, Clint takes the reader through the journey of a bomber crew right from training until the end of the war and beyond, offering a deeper understanding of what they experienced. It took Clint around eight years to research and write The Job To Be Done. Reading it, I was amazed that one person - particularly one for whom historical research is not his day job - managed to write such a detailed book in just eight years. His work is a prime example of the value and importance of so-called amateur historians, with the contribution of personal stories and accounts that would otherwise be lost forever."
